The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named former Pakistan captain and batting legend Inzamam-ul-Haq as the national chief selector of the Pakistan men's team. This will be the second stint in the role for the 53-year-old who previously held the position between 2016 and 2019. During his reign, Pakistan managed to get to no.1 in the Test rankings apart from winning the Champions Trophy title in 2017.
The immediate task at hand for Inzamam will be the upcoming bilateral series against Afghanistan to be played in Sri Lanka from August 22 followed by the Asia Cup. Then, there will be the inevitable task of naming Pakistan's ODI World Cup squad. Coincidentally, he was in charge while picking the team for the 2019 edition as well.
